The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays- it's all about celebrating independence, good casual food with friends, being by the ocean (or at least this is my idea of a good July 4th). Just stopping home for some warmer clothes before the evening fireworks. We went to a BBQ one of my classmates invited me to and had a lovely time. My partner suggested making a strawberry and spinach salad, which was quite the hit of the bbq. I should have taken a picture because there's nothing left of it- it was delicious!
It was funny to watch everyone drink beer so casually at this party. No one got drunk, there were 20-25 people and lots of beer. Hours past and there was lots of beer left. Lots of half beers left. Yep, I'm definitely an alcoholic and a million times grateful to be a sober alcoholic.

I'm glad you enjoyed your time. The best thing is that you enjoyed it sober, right? By the way, that salad sounds delicious!
I find it amusing how we all tend to pay attention to people who still drink. Who would drink half a beer? Such a waste!
Invariably, when I have been around drinkers, there has been that one girl who drinks like I did, makes a huge commotion, and usually pukes everywhere...and I am humbly returned to a place of gratitude! Sounds like you had a fun day.
